TransTech Alternate Universe Role Play
----- ----- ----- ----- -----
----- ----- ----- ----- -----
Step one to becoming a part of the TransTech Alternate Universe Role Play series of threads: create your character. First, identify your character's role. Are they a TransTech? Are they a Lowtech? Are they an Alternity? Your character's role in the plot is determined by which of these three they identify with. TransTech shape the story. Lowtech are mere participants in it. Alternity ignore the rules and turn everything on its head. Alternate roles may be taken, such as Protectors. Your character applications must contain only this one feature- your intended character role, in addition to their name- and nothing else. Any additional information you provide is up to your discretion.
Character Roles:
TransTech.
" The Transcendent Technomorphs, shortened to TransTechs, are overall better than you. Hailing from a vastly more advanced Cybertron that has never known the primitive scourge of war, this ancient sub-race of Transformers has watched over the multiverse for untold eons (their own universal stream being the "Nexus"), welcoming travelers from other dimensions through their emissary city of Axiom Nexus. They have developed their bodies, technology, and civilization to a highly evolved state, far beyond that of the war-wracked bestial Transformers who typically pass through Axiom Nexus's gates.
However, they might not be as nice as they seem. Some of them are at the very least, a bit... how shall we say... morally ambiguous. "

As characters that are far more advanced than the Cybertronians commonly seen in the main universe of the site, TransTech don't have many limitations. Their advances of their bodies, technology, and civilization make for characters that aren't bound by traditional role play etiquette. What's considered "overpowered" isn't necessarily wrong for TransTechs (to a reasonable extent).
Lowtech.
" Lowtech" is a term used by Transcendent Technomorphs to designate all those who aren't native to their home dimension, aren't as evolved as they are, and are altogether not as great as they are. It is essentially a derogatory term they use against inter-dimensional immigrants. Although somewhat justified, in a sense that all outworlders encountered to date have not been as technologically as advanced as the Transcendent Technomorphs, it has yet to be seen if they would react in a similar discriminatory way to races that, although not native to their universe, are still equally or more evolved then they are (such as the Alternity). "
Among the three roles, by far the most common and the least impressive- though make no mistake, they still play an important part in any stories in the TransTech role play series. Not very powerful, but fun to play irregardless. They're along for the ride, for the most part, but can still influence the role play in major ways- especially if TransTech or Alternity underestimate them.
Alternity.
" The Alternity (オルタニティ Orutaniti) are a highly evolved form of Cybertronian life. They are gestalt beings, existing in higher-dimensional space, each one formed from the combination of the infinite variations of a singular individual which exist throughout the multiverse. Individuals are invited to become part of the Alternity, at which point they join the collective intelligence of the combined being, while at the same time retaining their individuality, effectively becoming all of the composite incarnations of the being at once, allowing the Alternity to exist across an infinite number of universal streams simultaneously.
To interact with the physical world, the Alternity create material vessels called auto-avatars, which are comparable in capabilities to the Cybertronians of many universal streams, but carry many unique technological advancements specific to the Alternity. In their native forms, they are composed of Alternium, a higher-dimensional material which resonates with the incarnations of the being on similar universal streams.[1]
Having originated from universal stream Primax 903.0 Beta, manipulating that timeline is a dicey proposition at best for the Alternity due to issues of causality. As a result, agents known as Protectors are employed to deal with threats to the timeline. These agents are not Alternity themselves, which helps to avoid temporal paradox.
The Alternity are almost exclusively Autobots and Maximals, a fact that has not gone unnoticed by the Decepticons, most notably Megatron."

What's above says it all. Because of the immense power behind characters that are inherently unbound by the laws of the known universe, characters who are Alternity will be chosen very carefully. It's preferable to provide more information for them than for either of the other two roles so that more thought may be put into their consideration.
Because of the nature of Transcendent Technomorphs, Lowtech characters can come from any continuity. Please refer to TFWiki's page for universal streams to read which continuities belong to which clusters. TransTechs themselves have only one canonical continuity, but can come from different variations of the Nexus universe cluster if desired.
Below you'll find a template for your character applications and a couple of different examples demonstrating what it could look like once filled out. This is an application thread. Reply to the thread with a filled out template and your character will be considered by me for approval. Once approved, you'll be able to join in the fun on the AU RP section of the site- any thread started by me, with (TransTech) in the title, and open for role play is eligible!
