Guidelines/Rules
To follow is the list of the role-play rules for the space section of Transformer Rebirth, along with the rules for ships that every role-player should understand and follow.
1. Space to ground combat requires permission
Space crafts require permission to be used on Cybertron (and other celestial objects such as the Moonbases) in a combat scenario, similar to a titan they must have half of the current thread users approval. If the ship in question is attacked first (by another person, not an alt) this rule is ignored. Also small spacecrafts such as dropships are not included in this rule.
2. Capital Ships require permission to be used in any combat scenario
Capital Ship class vehicles require permission for any usage in combat. This is due to them almost always being potential game changers similar to titans in the standard roleplay. A Capital Ship though is still allowed to appear in any non-combat scenario without requiring permission. If the ship in question is attacked first (by another person, not an alt) this rule is ignored. It also includes only Capital Ships, as any lower class of ship may be involved in space combat without requiring permission, they still are subject to rule one however.
3. A ship cannot be stolen or destroyed without permission from the owner
Ships can be stolen by pirates and other hostiles. This requires them to have gained permission from the owner OOC however. In the same regard a ship may not be destroyed without the owners permission. This only includes personal ships, and those currently with players onboard. A generic ship piloted by NPCs may be captured or destroyed by anyone. Standard forum rules such as Godmodding still apply, if a character tries to one on one a dreadnought class capital ship with a single person dogfighter their death or capture is practically assured.
Staff members are expected to watch carefully for scenarios which may cause OOC disputes over whether a ship is captured or destroyed. In the case of the attacker they are not allowed to force another into a scenario where they're only option is capture or be destroyed. In a similar manner a defender is not allowed to wander into a scenario where destruction or capture is the only option without suffering the consequences.
4. All Major City-States possess AA defences that must be acknowledged
All Cybertron's main City-States possess AA grids and other anti-space defences. When using a ship you must acknowledge that these defences are a threat and cannot be shrugged off even for the Dreadnought class. This rule only applies for ships that are Corvette size or larger, as smaller ships such as fighters and shuttles are not picked up by the most dangerous AA weapons, though that does not mean a player should ignore them. In the case this rule applies however a ship while always be destroyed in a maximum of sixty posts (this includes everyone in the thread since the ships arrival). This is to ensure the arrival of a ship does not equal an instant-win for whoever owns it and also allows most of the focus to be on the infantry.
In regard to deactivating the AA defences a ship or even a fleet is incapable of destroying the grid before the annihilation of their own ship. Rather the only way for a AA grid to be eliminated is by destroying the power generator and command centre of the city-states AA defences. This must be done by ground forces however, including at least one player character with a minimum of ten posts by the assault team involved in the defences destruction. This is again to ensure the importance of infantry.
5. Ships take damage
This rule can be considered as three separate rules linked together. The first of which is that ships must take damage of some kind during battles if hit. In TFR no ship is invulnerable as even a squadron of bombers can deal massive damage to a capital ship if they're ignored and allowed to hit a critical spot. This rules is technically including in the general rule of 'no godmodding' however I felt necessary to mention it anyway. Failing to detail the damage dealt is also considered as ignoring the damage and a violation of the rule. If a player is found to be either shrugging off relevant attacks or failing to detail the damage then a staff member may do so, and to a likely more negative result for the rule breaker.
The second rule is that damage must be taken into consideration. If your engines have taken damage then your ships movement is most likely effected. If you detail the damage but fail to show how that damage is effecting the ship in the post, as well as subsequent posts then that is breaking this rule.
The final rule is that damage is 'retained' even after the battle is finished. This means that if you fight a battle and the above mentioned engines are damaged then the ship while continue to keep those injuries until it receives a repair. So for example The Nemesis engines are damaged in battle with Autobot forces but is victorious, it then chases down other enemies in another sector of space (a new thread), at this point the engines are still damaged despite joining another thread. The mentioned repair must occur on the forum with a relevant amount of detail being taken to the ships restoration. You are not allowed to simply claim your ship was repaired off-scene.
