Now when I started work on Transformers Rebirth my intention wasn't to create a fanfiction (for those who know me that might be a surprise) but rather the framework of a world that could be roleplayed in. It's due to this Transformers Rebirth has it's own lore entirely different from every other Transformers roleplay I know of. At this moment though the actual lore of Rebirth has been created vague enough that anyone who joins can influence the world, as such I haven't personally went into detail about the reasons why Rebirth is exiting it's golden age. This thread as such is designed to suggest potential problems that Cybertron and it's population may be facing in this new era.

Growing hostitalities between different cities on Cybertron, as people are just growing angry at each other.

With the planet's population being pretty high, the UCA which governs and polices it would probably have their hands full, despite employing a good portion of Cybertron's population.
Maybe somewhere there are still remnants of descendants of Decepticons or those being hired by Decepticons or criminal gangs to do the dirty work. Some form of external influence too? The Decepticons must exist in some form across the galaxy.

Well, for external forces you got the Quints and other alien races (tbd who) and there is going to be Decepticon activity, buried plenty deep. That's my entire gig with the guild. Virmire is full of mob style gangs ala Casino and the like. Maybe a bit of Boardwalk Empire. There's plenty of big money going around trying to get people to do what they want and senators and special interests (their's alone) to pull up to the top. Think Gilded Age, before WW1. Plenty of rot to run deep and corrode and plenty of groups, gangs, mobs and the wealthy all trying to make themselves the ones on top. Plus new sorts of cults.

Maybe..predacons or like the above: Quintessons that could serve as an enemy or force? If not those then i'd suggest bringing in something from IDW..like the functionist or Nova Prime and all of his disciples..or galvatron..OR if not those: The Legislators..

This site has such an interesting premise that I believe it can transcend what we associate with traditional Transformers roleplay, almost in a similar fashion to what the More than Meets the Eye IDW comic title did for the franchise's canon. It's a clean slate with strong foundations that are meant to be built upon, and I'm interested in joining everyone else in figuring out just what sort of problems we can use to transition this RP canon's Cybertron from its current golden age, to a new age of conflict.
With that being said, I think it would actually be best to hold off on the conflict for a while. I'm not sure when the conflict has been intended to start arising ICly, but allow me to explain my reasoning: It would be very normal to have a Transformers RP begin as it usually does- with fighting. Though it wouldn't be Autobots vs. Decepticons on this site, in this setting and time period, it would still be conflict. Unique; yes, and still different; yes, yet it would- in its very base form- still be what every other group does in this fandom. Therefore, to make this RP truly something more- something that meets, and exceeds people's expectations of what a Transformers roleplay canon can be- we should hold off on the conflict, and instead start the story by focusing on establishing the RP canon itself. Let people get comfortable in their character's shoes, form interpersonal relationships with one another, and affirm their place both with the people and the world that surrounds them. By doing so, the conflict becomes more than simple conflict (again, still unique to that which we traditionally see in other RP canons); it becomes yet another way to enrich the characters and setting that this fan universe is comprised of.

I've recently been talking with Tracev and we thought up this idea.
"A possible source of the site's future conflict is at its base, a moral dilemma.
A forgotten remnant of the war is about to make a critical reappearance. An unidentified participant of the war succeeded in uncovering the secrets to the spark, and in the time since Cybertron's restoration has been reigniting deceased sparks, filling them with new life. Now, their return is the spark of controversy. Some may see them as an insult to all those who gave their lives during the war; the desecration of sacred Cybertronian relics. Others may choose to accept these new Cybertronians, seeing them as a miracle; the gift of life where there would otherwise be none. The decision whether to allocate the new race of revived sparks a space in society, or to oust them from the world becomes a major division in Cybertron's populace. Perhaps even the source of a new war."
As clarification these would be entirely new people despite possessing the frames of dead cybertronians. Also a suggested name for their race is 'Reignited Sparks'.
